How to Apply for GATE 2017 Online Exam-GOAPS

Graduate Aptitude Test for Engineering (GATE) 2017 exam is scheduled to be conducted from January 30 to February 7 by Indian Institute of Technology (IIT).

The GATE 2017 online application starts from September 1 and will end on October 1. Candidates can download the GATE admit cards from December 17 onwards. As of now, the official date for announcing GATE 2017 results will be on March 27.

Eligible candidates for GATE 2017 exam can apply only through online mode on the GATE official website - and candidates should not send any hard copy of their application form/documents etc., to any of the IIT's or zonal GATE office.

GATE 2017 online exam will see some changes in the paper pattern. An online virtual calculator is made available to all the aspirants at the time of examination. This was stressed due to the need to have a physical calculator. Although that was not allowed, candidates scheduled to appear in the prestigious GATE 2017 exam can have a sigh of relief as this online virtual calculator will also be made available on GATE 2017 website before the examination so that candidates can use it for practice.

Also, a new paper Petroleum Engineering (PE) is introduced in GATE 2017 exam. The total number of GATE papers is now increased to 23. After the GATE exam is over, candidates can see the GATE answer keys from the official GATE website.

Commencement of GATE online application: September 1

Last date for request for change in the choice of examination city via GOAPS login: November 20
Download the GATE 2016 admit cards: December 17
GATE 2017 online examination: January 30 to February 7
