GATE Syllabus 2017

The Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bangalore has invited applications for admission to Master of Engineering programme. IISC will be conducting the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2017. The GATE online exam is scheduled to be held from February 4, 2017 and GATE 2017 Result will be out on March 27.

The syllabus for each of the papers can be found by clicking on the subject papers below. Read the section on Structure of GATE 2017 to know what sections appear in each paper, especially in XE and XL.
 *The syllabi for GATE 2017 papers have been revised. Hence, syllabi of some papers may be different from those of GATE 2015.

General Aptitude (GA) : Common in all papers
Verbal Ability: English grammar, sentence completion, verbal analogies, word groups, instructions, critical reasoning and verbal deduction.
Numerical Ability: Numerical computation, numerical estimation, numerical reasoning and data interpretation.
