GATE 2017 Eligibility Criteria

The GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) 2017 exam is to be conducted from January 30 till February 7. GATE 2017 exam will be held by IISC (Indian Institute of Science), Bangalore and jointly administered by the IISc and seven IIT's  - Mumbai, Delhi, Kanpur, Roorkee, Madras, Kharagpur, Guwahati to provide admission to students in Master of Engineering degree programs.

GATE 2017 online application starts September 1 and ends on October 1. GATE 2017 syllabus has been revised this year and there are changes as compared to previous year syllabus for GATE 2017.

GATE 2016 New Changes:
Due to the introduction of a new paper, Petroleum Engineering (PE), the total number of papers has been increased to 23 from the previous 22 papers.
Candidates appearing in the GATE 2017 online exam will be provided an online virtual calculator during the examination.
GATE 2017 examination answer keys will be published within a short time for some nominal charge.

GATE 2017 Eligibility criteria
Candidates applying for GATE 2017 online exam must have passed B.A/B.Tech/B.Pharm. Students in their final year are also eligible to apply for GATE 2017.

Or

Candidates should have passed B.Arch. Students in their final year are also eligible to apply for GATE 2017.

Or

Candidates should have passed B.Sc (Research)/B.S. Students in their final year are also eligible to apply for GATE 2017.

Or

Candidates should have passed M.Sc/M.A/MCA or equivalent. Students who are currently in the final year are also eligible to apply for GATE 2017.

Or

Candidates should have passed Int. M.E/M.Tech (Post B.Sc). Students who are currently in their second/third or fourth year are also eligible to apply for GATE 2017. The year of qualification cannot be later than 2018.

Or

Candidates should have passed Int. M.E/M.Tech or dual degree (after diploma or 10 plus 2). Students who are currently in the fourth or fifth year are also eligible to apply for GATE 2017. The year of qualification cannot be later than 2017.

Or

Candidates should have passed Int. M.Sc/Int. B.S.-M.S. Students in their final year are also eligible to apply for GATE 2017.

Or

Candidates should have passed Professional Society Examinations (equivalent to B.E./B.Tech./B.Arch.). Students who have completed section A or equivalent of such professional courses are also eligible to apply.

The year of qualification cannot be later than 2017 unless other specified.

GATE 2017 scores will be valid for a period of three years after the announcement of GATE 2017 results.
