GATE 2018 Paper Pattern
Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2018 exam dates has been notified by IITG (Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati). GATE 2018 exam is to be held on February 03, 04, 10 & 11, 2018 (Saturdays & Sundays).
Every year, GATE exam is conducted paving the way for admissions to postgraduate courses at the Master's and Doctoral level in India, and also to MHRD and other Government Scholarships, Assistantships in Engineering, Technology, Architecture and Science. GATE score is also used by some Public Sector Undertaking(PSUs) while recruitment. Candidates willing to apply for the GATE 2018 registration can apply online at www.gate.iisc.ernet.in.
GATE 2018 exam paper pattern is as follows:
- The GATE 2018 exam consists of a single paper.
- GATE 2018 exam is a Computer Based Test (CBT).
- The test duration is of three hours.
- The GATE 2018 exam paper will have 65 questions.
- Questions will be displayed randomly to the candidates.
- It will be for a total of 100 marks.
- The GATE 2018 online exam will have Multiple Choice Question (MCQs) and Numerical Answer Type question.
- Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) carry 1 or 2 marks each for all sections. These questions will be objective that means each question will have four options as answers, out of which the candidate has to mark the correct answer.
- Numerical Answer Questions carry 1 or 2 marks each for all sections. The answer would be a real number, which is to be entered using a virtual keypad. No choices will be available for these type of questions.
- Candidates can answer the question using the mouse or the virtual keyboard, the computer's keyboard will not be usable.
- Candidates can take use of the blank paper sheets for any rough work, though the candidates need to return these sheets before leaving the examination hall.
- No extra time will be allotted to candidates and the computer screen will shut down itself automatically after 3 hours are completed.
GATE Results 2018 would be announced on March 17, 2018.
